Qualifications

Successful Candidate will possess the following attributes:

1. Doctoral degree in Engineering or fields deemed relevant
   *Applicants who are expected to obtain the degree by the starting date are also eligible.
   *Applicants with more than 10 years of experience after acquiring their doctoral degree will NOT be eligible for this position.
2. Excellent record in publishing and external funding
3. Outstanding ability to obtain research grands/funds to promote research projects

Fields of study

We seek enthusiastic and talented researcher whose interests fall in “Motor Control”, “Medical Welfare Engineering”, and “Human Interface and Interaction”. Basic education in Medical Engineering and Robotics with its application to medical field will be desirable for the applicants. On taking office, the appointee is expected to make substantial contribution to Medical Engineering field.

Education

Successful candidate will be responsible for undergraduate and graduate school education. The selected candidate will also contribute to administrative, operational, and other duties.

Starting Date

After April 1, 2022 to commence as soon as possible

Employment Period/Status

Tenure-track

The position starts with a five-year fixed term (with an intermediate evaluation within the 3rd year) with consideration for tenure before expiry of the initial contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Compensation

1. Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, based on Chiba University compensation rules of the new annual salary system
2. Office hours: Flexible work hours
3. Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and the end and beginning of the year
4. Fringe benefits: A package of fringe benefits including Accident Compensation Insurance, Employment Insurance, Pension Service, and The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Mutual Aid Association will be offered if applicable.
