We will present the results of our joint research with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) at the 2026 IEEE NSS MIC RTSD, to be held in Granada, Spain, from November 7 to 14, 2026.

I attended the 35th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Bioimaging, held in Kyoto, Japan. A first-year doctoral student under my supervision received a Scholarship Award.

I hosted a site visit for members of the JST ACT-X program.

We will give three presentations at The 35th Annual Meeting of the Bioimaging Society, to be held in Kyoto, Japan, on October 4–5, 2026.

• Morphological variation analysis of parametrically controlled 3D data using a variational autoencoder
• Laboratory-based X-ray phase-contrast imaging of vertebrate model organisms using a Talbot–Lau interferometry
• Temporal quantitative assessment of microcirculatory tortuosity associated with flap necrosis

I gave an invited lecture at the 116th Regular Meeting of the JSPE Expert Committee for Convergence Engineering.

My research project has been selected for FY2026 PRESTO (SAKIGAKE), Strategic Basic Research Programs of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).

We showcased our JST-funded project at University Fair 2026: Innovation Japan – Seeds for Tomorrow’s Startups (booth information). We sincerely thank everyone who visited our booth.

We have launched an Open Lab for current Chiba University students.

Our paper on a hybrid method for tissue oxygen saturation estimation combining transmittance and diffuse reflectance measurements has been published in Biomedical Optics Express.

I was honored to receive the AI Optics Excellent Presentation Award from the AI Optics Research Group of the Optical Society of Japan.
