Respiration Monitoring System using non-wearable sensing technique Kazuya KAWAMURA Assessment of conditions of lung capacity and respiratory movement is required to diagnosis of chronic respiratory disease. So, the measurement method is important to get precise information. In addition, daily monitoring of own health has received a lot of attention for keeping in good health in recent years. In this research, we propose a method to measure the respiration volume and respiratory motion with a noncontact sensor (imaging equipment such as a camera) for patients. In this research, we focused on the estimation of forced vital capacity as a daily monitoring at home. We showed the estimation method using thoraco-abdominal volume by body shape approximation as elliptical frustums.
