Associate Professor/Assistant Professor: 1 position available

Qualifications

Successful Candidate for Associate Professor will possess the following attributes

1. Doctoral degree in Engineering or fields deemed relevant
2. Excellent record in publishing and external funding
3. Outstanding ability to obtain research grants/funds to promote research projects

Successful Candidate for Assistant Professor will possess the following attributes

1. Doctoral degree in Engineering or fields deemed relevant
   (Ph.D. candidates who are expected to earn a degree by the starting date)
2. Established research scientist with completion of Ph.D. level training in Engineering
3. Strong track record of research indicated by publications

Fields of study

We seek enthusiastic and talented researcher whose interests falls in Engineering. Basic education in Information Engineering and Image Engineering with its application to medical field will be desirable for the applicants. On taking office, the appointee is expected to make substantial contribution to Medical Engineering field.

Education

Successful candidate will be responsible for undergraduate and graduate school education. The selected candidate will also contribute to administrative, operational, and other duties.

Starting Date

After December 1, 2020 to commence as soon as possible

Employment Period/Status

Tenure-track

The position starts with a five-year fixed term with consideration for tenure before expiry of the initial contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Compensation

1. Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, based on Chiba University pay scales
2. Office hours: Flexible work hours
3. Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays
4. Fringe benefits: A package of fringe benefits including health insurance and pension service will be offered if applicable.
