Innovation strategies in scientific research

ABSTRACT

In this talk, I will provide an overview of the importance and history of innovation, and introduce sixteen strategies for innovation.

TITLE

Protection of tissue injury by targeting at NAD+ and NAD+-dependent enzymes

ABSTRACT

It is of critical importance to elucidate the mechanisms of tissue and find protective strategies for tissue injury in neurological diseases and other pathological conditions. In this talk I will introduce our findings that NAD+ treatment can significantly decrease the tissue injury in brain ischemia and traumatic brain injury as well as synchrotron radiation-induced tissue injury. We have also found that NAD+ can induce decreases in tumor cell, survival by such mechanisms as inducing oxidative stress. Collectively, our study has suggested that NAD+ may become a new drug for treating multiple diseases.
