Aiming at the characteristics of cancer incidence in Asian population, which are different from those in Western countries, this project, in cooperation with Japanese medical artificial intelligence experts, utilizes the advantage of big medical data with the largest number of people and the most complete types of cases in Henan Province, relies on the medical big data acquisition platform built by the project team in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, and studies on intelligent assistant diagnosis, treatment and prognosis prediction system for lung cancer, brain tumor, breast cancer and liver cancer.

A collaborative research project to develop clinically useful computer-assisted detection (CAD) software, named UTH CAD Challenge, has been underway since August 2014. From July 2015, we started the second year of the project, named UTH CAD Challenge 2015. Three research groups submitted computer programs for cerebral aneurysm detection, and the other three research groups submitted computer programs for lung nodule detection. In this short report, we reported present status of UTH CAD Challenge project.
