This study developed and designed a " assisted somatosensory video game " for the rehabilitation research of developmentally delayed children in the Kaohsiung of Taiwan. The study investigated the effectiveness of the somatosensory gaming aid as a medical assistive device in the rehabilitation of children with developmental delays in terms of integration and coordination, visual perception, and motor coordination.

In this study, the focus is on addressing communication needs in intensive care units (ICU) where patients, temporarily unable to verbally communicate due to trauma or treatment, interact with caregivers using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) during recovery.
