A Real-Time Brain-Computer Interface with Multiple Commands Using Blind Source Separation for Artifact Removal

概要

In recent years the fast progress in neuroscience and technology has allowed the realization of the long-standing dream of humankind to pass the normal executive functions of the body and to create a thought-based remote control of a machine without using the body muscles. Such Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) systems can be useful for control of artificial limbs in paralyzed subjects (neuroprosthesis), for mobility assistance in handicapped or elderly persons, for immersive virtual reality control of remote machines in hazardous environments, and even for recreational multi-player role play.
